Throw a rocking Diwali party with Clappily!

Diwali is a grand affair in India and as the festival is nearing, we realize that there are so many things left to be planned. Diwali sees relatives and friends coming together and hosting parties at their houses. Now, we know the hassle that is hosting a good Diwali party and making arrangements for the same, to ensure your party is flawless. So, to make our lives a little bit simpler, here are a few tips that you can consider to make your party a success:
1. Gifting:
It’s a common practice during Diwali to give gifts to the people who come to your home. When you actually get down to it, the moving around and looking for gifts for every individual can be a tiring process. But what if we tell you that this entire process can be a lot fun and can be done from the comfort of your homes? Yes, you heard that right. Read on to know how.

      2. Chocolates:
No one can keep the kids (and a lot of adults too!) away from chocolates. Also, chocolates are the best way to make yourself popular among the kids. Indulge in something more personal this year by getting customized chocolates made instead of giving kids the same old store brought chocolates. There are a lot of vendors who can get customized chocolates made in a short span of time.  Get your family name or, if you’re feeling creative, the name of the event stamped onto the chocolates – that’s guaranteed to give a wow factor to your guests!
      3.  Snacks:
No festivity in India is complete without some scrumptious snacks! No one can keep themselves from indulging in a few sweets and snacks that are made especially for this occasion, even if it means gaining a few kilos! However, making all these snacks is not an easy task and you need to have a lot of patience and efforts to make enough for everyone. And serving cold snacks is as good as social suicide, isn’t it? But there is a simple way out of all of this. Intrigued? Read on to know more details!

      4. Bakery:
One way to make your party stand out from the rest is by adding pastries and cakes to the traditional sweets to your scrumptious Diwali menu. You can make them yourselves (which will be a long process) or you can get made to order cupcakes.

We know planning the perfect event is definitely not an easy task and you need to start planning and stay on top of things in advance. That is why we will be your knights in shining armor, at least when it comes to planning any event. With the launch of the Clappily customer app, you can find all of this easily on your phone! And what a wonderful thing that is. You can connect with all the vendors right from the comfort of your homes! Right from gifting solutions to chocolatiers to caterers, you can easily find the right vendors on the app. All you have to do is download the app, sign-up and start looking for what you need. So, what are you waiting for?

Not every florist is benefiting from India’s flourishing florist industry

Flowers and floral arrangements are an integral part of a party, wedding or any other event. One cannot think of marriages or parties without beautiful flowers, which are essential to create a festive atmosphere. Flowers adorn every moment and every occasion. Be it as an expression of love or accessorizing an event, people are making an increased purchase of flowers.

According to a survey, the cost of decorating a wedding venue, dais, showering petals for welcoming the guests and car decoration requires at least $ 4,000 for a middle class marriage while an elaborate arrangement at a five-star hotel can cost up to $ 153,000. The business of flowers at weddings is moving away from standalone florists to full-fledged wedding planners.

Floral decorations are not only limited to weddings but also included in pre-wedding functions, theme parties, baby showers, corporate parties and other religious events. Catering to this growing need, more and more brand names are blooming. However, only the big names in the industry like Ferns ‘n’ Petals, Exotica, Floral Mall, Naturesmania are able to encash on the thriving $16 Million florist market in India.

Individual florists are unable to create innovative structures and designs for decorations or even play with lighting and fabrics. That’s why this remains the domain of professional planners. Many planners have tie-ups with specialist florists on an assignment basis; others have in-house teams. Over the past few years, clients have been requesting for more detailed floral arrangements, which the big brands and wedding planners can offer.

While flower vendors join hands directly with these brands, the small florists (resellers) have become almost invisible. They are not able to capture a larger market and only survive on small in-house functions, festivals and occasions like Valentines Day, in their catchment areas of operation.

The florist industry is growing at a rate of 28% annually and so is every business associated with the industry. For smaller florists to capitalise on this growth, they need to join hands with a platform which gives them wider exposure and greater opportunities to grow.

A tech platform like Clappily can register individual florists and small businesses on their event planning mobile app, helping to increase the reach and depth of India’s unorganised florist market. Clappily is a marketplace both for merchants and consumers, shortly available both on Android and iOS. The app becomes a single destination for varied party needs that customers may have, flower arrangements being an increasingly important part of the mix. You can also find us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
